Manchester United fans have been waiting for January 2017. And the reason is not farfetched, as it is believed that Mourinho plans to make several high profile signings when the transfer window reopens, in a bid to continue rebuilding his team at Manchester United.
And just when Man Utd fans begin to look forward to the start of the New Year, it would appear that Mourinho has changed his mind.

Particularly, Manchester United have been linked in recent weeks with a move for Victor Lindelof, Benfica’s 22-year old defender.
Reports suggest that, with Eric Bailly preparing to play at the imminent African Cup of Nations for his country Ivory Coast, Mourinho has been looking to improve his defensive line in the January transfer window.
With Lindelof believed to be made United’s most expensive defender of all time, for a fee estimated to be around £38 million and £40 million, rumours have had it that in the recent weeks that the Swedish youngster had already been assigned the number 2 shirt in The Red Devils’ line up.

However, according to sources from within the Manchester United set up, Mourinho has changed his mind about the move.
This is as a result of the club’s recently improved form, even though Bailly has been out on injury.
Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, down the pecking order for the defensive line, have surprisingly been in sparkling form for the United defence, forming a solid partnership that has been lacking in the back four lately.
As a matter of fact, the statistics have it that the Red Devils have been unbeaten since Rojo and Jones started featuring together for the team.
As a result of their solid partnership at the heart of the defence, Mourinho has continued to use the duo, even though Chris Smalling and Bailly are back and fit again to play.

With Daley Blind’s recent upturn in form, capable of playing on the left wing as well as in centre-back, it will be agreed that a new signing might be unnecessary.
But we’ll have to wait and see, as Mourinho still has a whole month of transfer window to finalize his decision concerning Lindelof.
