Ghana and Sivasspor defender John Boye says images that were all over the internet showing he kissed his bonuses during the 2014 world cup in Brazil were all fake.
During the 2014 world cup before Ghana’s game against Portugal, the players threatened to boycott the match over unpaid bonuses which led to Ghana flying $3 million in cash by chartered jet to the Black Stars in Brazil to settle the dispute over appearance fees and bonuses.
However, after the money was sent, Boye was spotted kissing his wad of notes after being handed his personal share of the money, but the former Heart of Lions defender in an exclusive interview with Adam Adjei on the Kasapa FM’s Dwidwa’m sports show on Wednesday denied those reports insisting those pictures were Photoshopped.
When asked if he kissed the money, he replied: “It was Photoshop”.
