The Issachar Prophetic and Leadership Institute, (IPLI), has asked youthful appointees in President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, to tread cautiously and avoid repeating mistakes of other young appointees under the John Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
According to the President of the Institute, Apostle Selassie Addae, the avoidance of such mistakes will make them successful in their quest to serve the country.
Nana Addo in appointing his administrative staff, named four persons between the ages of Thirty to forty, to serve in his administration. In an interview with Citi News, Apostle Addae noted that, the posturing of the young appointees will encourage the President to appoint more youthful persons to serve in his administration. “All future appointees of President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo must desist from arrogant behaviour as it will cause their defeat in the next general elections.
We should commend the new president for the great appointment which I pray will follow through the other appointments. The only word of caution is that, we pray the youth will be able to live up to expectation.”
Apostle Addae added that, “We should be able to overcome mediocrity and some of the mistakes that we saw in previous administration over the years. Sometimes the way they speak, they come out as people who are arrogant, the way they approach issues, there must be a lot of circumspection in their language.
There must be decorum in how they handle issues and in their language. I think that, as young as they are, they have rich CVs and experience, and I think they can deliver.” “For some, I think that they have not worked for long, and would need some experience, but with time they should be able to deliver.
The President has confidence in them and I think that they can deliver so far as they are able to show that much of respect to the electorates, to the citizens, that one is very important.”
“I don’t think that in the previous government they did badly; but I think that there was this perception of them being arrogant, and I pray that this youth will not disappoint the president, and it would encourage him to appoint more young people, because the young people have that energy also to blend with other people with experience to deliver the promises he has made to the people.”
