The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fired its last warning shots to the governing NPP over what it terms as its failure to call to order its rampaging members.
They also hit heavily on the President for failing to maintain the peace and order that prevailed in the country before power was handed over to them.
Clad in red head gears and arm bands, in a bid to prove their seriousness, the national Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, Kofi Portuphy, who addressed the media at the Party’s head office, was supported by some notable members such as the Gen Sec. Asiedu Nketia, Former Trade Minister Ekow Spio-Garbra and Koku Anyidoho.
In his address, Kofi Portuphy accused the President of turning a blind eye to the acts of terrorism that have taken place since he became president adding that the trend has gotten to worrying heights that the NDC as a responsible opposition cannot sit down aloof.
He accused the NPP of watching on as their thugs go about seizing and destroying state properties whilst putting lives at risk.
With an agitated voice, he narrated the ordeal that some of the Party members have gone through for some weeks now explaining that the lives of some people have been at risk in trying to resolve heated engagements with members of the governing NPP.
The Gen. Sec. of the NDC Asiedu Nketia expressed the frustrations that the party leadership is going through in attempting to keep their members in check so as to forestall any mishap. He claimed that the NDC has always been a law abiding party and will only do things that are backed by the law.
He maintained that if the governing NPP does not sit up and take control of what’s going on, especially in improving security and protecting state assets of the country, things will escalate into unimaginable heights.
Kofi Portuphy detailed that the NDC are fed with the suffering they are going through and urged members to defend themselves when and where necessary.
