Jessica Saforo weight loss programme, known as “Transformation with Jess” is Ghana’s first ever Weight Loss Reality Tv Show. The show which aims at educating people on the benefits of exercise, right and healthy food choices was produced by ‘The Voice Ova Company’, with Jessica Saforo, a popular Ghanaian Broadcaster serving as the coach.
Transformation with Jess is a competitive reality show that proves to the world that people can lose weight organically; with discipline, correct eating habits and adequate exercise.
Season one of Jessica Saforo weight loss reality show which started on 5th November, 2016 ended on Saturday, 4th February, 2017. This first phase of the show was drawn to a very interesting end with a cocktail party.
10 contestants scaled through the auditioning stage out of a total number of 50 clients who were willing to lose weight discovered by Jessica late 2016. The ten contestants included:
It was these 10 clients that started the season one of the transformation exercise. They were taken through 13 episodes comprising series of weight loss activities – dieting, fun work outs and overall life style changes. Five contestants were eliminated, with the remaining five making it to the final stage of the competition.

Before commencing each session, the contestants were made to undergo medical examinations at Omni Media Clinic in Dzorwulu to ascertain their overall health. They were also closely monitored throughout the season by Dr. Marc Dzradosi.
At the end of the season, Philip Nii Lartey, a 25-year-old journalist emerged the winner, having lost 25.1kgs during the season. As the winner, Philip pocketed GHC5000 in addition with a one year free gym membership from Total Fitness Centre, a multipurpose gym in the A&C Mall, Accra.
Speaking at the event, Jessica Saforo announced amidst smiles, that the top 5 contestants lost a total of 114.3 kgs while the other eliminated 5 lost a total of 42.7 kgs. She however added that, the evicted five were still allowed to use the gym throughout the season, and were also given two chances to return to the competition “provided they could challenge a contestant in the bottom 3 weekly”.
Transformation with Jess Season 1 was sponsored by Yomi Yoghurt, Total Fitness Centre, Imperial Leather, Special Ice Mineral Water and supported by Omni Media Clinic and GHOne TV. The production which lasted for 13 weeks was live on GhOne TV.

According to Jessica, ‘If you painstakingly learn the rudiments of weight loss, it becomes a lifestyle and hence the probability of you gaining all the weight back is minimized’. She added that she would like more men to enroll in Season 2 of the weight loss programme.
Jessica Opare Saforo is a multiple award winning Broadcaster and programmes Manager on 97.3 Citi FM. Jessica who won the RTP Best Female Radio Presenter Award three consecutive times (2013, 2014, and 2015), was former host of Miss Malaika and Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue. She was also named Most Influential Radio Personality on Social Media in 2015.
Jessica is also the Executive Director of The Voice Ova Company – a voice talent agency and media production house. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Ghana.
Before starting off the ‘Transformation with Jess’ Reality Tv Show, Jessica succeeded in transforming her own life, after starting her personal journey to weight loss in September, 2014.
