The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has said that he will personally rig the upcoming polls if the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) attempts to tamper with this year’s elections.
“I am telling you that if the NDC attempts to rig the elections, I, Wontumi will rig them first before they rig the elections. They are already late because I have taken the lead on what to do on Election Day,” he stated on Accra based Okay FM.
He accused the Mahama administration and the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Madam Charlotte Osei of working to frustrate voters in the Ashanti Region on the Election Day.
“We are left with some days to elections and I can tell you that Mahama is confused and so for him not to feel ashamed after the elections, they are trying hard to rig the polls…,” he alleged.
He was of the conviction that Ghana’s problems stem from the fact that President Mahama and his NDC have nothing good to offer Ghanaians.
Chairman Wontumi as he is affectionately called believes Ghana’s dwindling fortunes can only be reversed with an Akufo-Addo victory in the 2016 elections.
He further stressed that his party will do all it can to ensure this year’s elections reflect the will of the governed.
