The flag bearer of the United Front Party (UFP) in the 2016 elections, Dr Agyenim Boateng (Gyataba), has threatened to crush the Invincible Forces of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if they attempt to snatch his car from him under the guise of retrieving stolen state cars.
According to him, he has picked up signals that the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe – more commonly referred to as Abronye DC – has held clandestine meetings with some youth of the NPP to map out plans and strategies to seize his cars.
He said he had no state vehicle in his possession, therefore, would deal with anyone who would attempt to seize his cars as a criminal.
Speaking in an interview with Accra News on Monday, February 20, Gyataba, who declared his support for John Mahama in last year’s elections, said: “Two weeks ago, I got the information that Abronye DC had held meetings with some NPP boys to retrieve some suspected stolen cars in my possession.
“Let me put it on record that I have no state vehicle in my possession. All the cars I am using belong to me and I duly procured them. I have documents to prove that those vehicles belong to me.
“These Invincible Forces did it to Kofi Adams, National Organiser of the NDC, and did same to Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, but I am cautioning them that if they attempt to do it to me I will deal with them as armed robbers. I will crush them.
“What crime have I committed? Is it because I declared my support for John Mahama? Of course, I supported John Mahama because I was convinced that he was the best candidate.”
