The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) is currently in the Ashanti region campaigning ahead of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections despite the disqualification of its presidential candidate.
Presidential candidate Dr. Henry Lartey who is currently in the region, in an interview with rainbowradioonline.com said, he is winning the 2016 presidential election despite his disqualification and therefore cannot wait until he flaws the Electoral Commission (EC) in court over his ‘’unlawful disqualification’’.
The agronomist who expressed strong optimism of victory said, he is hopeful that he will be on the ballot paper for the presidential election after his case is heard in court.
According to him, his message of domestication is going done well with electorates in the Ashanti region and come December 7, 2016, he will shock both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) with a wide margin.
Dr. Lartey chided the EC over the disqualification stating that he has done everything right hence, could not understand why his disqualification. The candidate has so far toured Manhyia , Suame, Mampong, Asokore, Asante Akyem Central and other areas all in the Ashanti region.
He interacted with traditional leaders, traders and residents explaining why they should vote for the GCPP in this year’s election. The focus of the GCPP he noted is agriculture.
He said said the surest way of transforming Ghana is in the improvement of the agricultural sector through the concept of domestication. Dr. Lartey says it will take “green revolution to transform Ghana by the implementation of domestication-growing what we eat and eating what we grow.’’
His administration he explained would provide farmers with support in terms of capital and equipment to improve productivity in agriculture. Our manifesto is hinged on two major areas namely agriculture and energy; sectors such as the creative arts and tourism are also highlighted, he told residents in the areas he toured.
Dr. Henry Lartey reiterated that when i am given the mandate to govern this country, i will focus on solar energy and related development, including the establishment of a solar university to train and equip people with skills and knowledge requisite for exploring solar inventions such as solar panels, cars, lights among others.
We are now focusing on a door-to-door campaign and we are sure that Ghanaians will buy into our campaign promises. We are not making unrealistic promises like other parties but we are focusing on policies that are attainable and would help transform the lives of every single Ghanaian, he stated.
He added, the GCPP is the only party that can be trusted to manage the resources of this country efficiently. We have tried both the NDC and NPP and have achieved the same results over the years.
It was about time we vote both parties out and focus on the GCPP to help transform this country. We will not disappoint Ghanaians. We will deliver on our mandate in a transparent and accountable manner, he noted further.
