The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has taken a swipe at critics of the Opposition New Patriotic Party’s promise of a ‘one Village, one Dam,’ project claiming it is feasible with a well-structured implementation plan.
The Flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo during his tour of the Upper East Region, pledged that his government will ensure that every village in the Northern Region has a dam should Ghanaians elect him as Head of State.
He believed the dam will help improve the irrigation systems in the villages and boost the agricultural sector of the economy.
Commenting on the “One Village, One Dam” promise by Nana Addo on an Accra based Radio station, the Policy Advisor of the Progressive People’s Party Mr. Kofi Asamoah Siaw noted that, it is time politicians wear a Ghanaian development lens rather than a parochial one.
‘Even cocaine trade is feasible in the country, how much more a One village, one Dam project. Every promise is doable when the implementation is well planned. America is ruled by humans like Ghana and if everything is possible there, it is possible here too. We should stop the ‘we can’t do it syndrome’ and be positive towards development.’ Asamoah Siaw said.
