The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) is looking ahead to a bigger, better and greater future as it celebrates 33 years in God’s ministry.
Founded on February 26, 1984 by Pastor Mensa Otabil and 20 committed members at the Kanda Cluster of Schools, it has been a rollercoaster journey, but for the “goodness of God”, ICGC is now a world acclaimed Church.
From the humble beginning to the current location at Abossey Okai where it is headquartered, the church moved around several times worshipping in a school’s laboratory and suffering eviction at a point. Read more on this journey here.
Nonetheless, it was favoured by God with a mission to raise leaders, shape vision and influence society through Christ .
This feeds perfectly into ICGC’s instrumentality in several social interventions including supporting the Children’s Cancer Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, regular support to Osu Children’s Home, drilling of boreholes and setting up the Central Aid to provide scholarships to needy but brilliant students.
The General Overseer of the ICGC, Pastor Mensa Otabil, at a service to mark the anniversary on Sunday, congratulated his congregants and thanked everyone who supported the ministry over the 33 years.
Special thanks and mention was given to his wife Lady Joy Otabil who has played a significant role in the church and its administration.
Boasting in the Lord, Pastor Otabil was grateful to God for lifting him high to a level that he can now consider himself as not a leader of dwarf but a leader of leaders.
