Highlife legend Nana Ampadu, has promised a pleasant surprise for the people who will attend Citi FM’s Music of Ghanaian Origin [#MOGO2017] dinner dance.
Nana Ampadu will be thrilling the patrons of the event alongside the likes of AB Crentsil, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Adane Best, Kwabena Kwabena, Okyeame Kwame and some other surprise acts.
These great musicians will be backed by the able X-Therapy Band, as Chief Moomen, and his energetic Wogbejeke crew will also give patrons a taste of Ghana’s musical history.
“I will surprise people at MOGO. Many people see me and think that my age has affected how energetic I am, but I will show all of you that I am very strong,” Nana Ampadu told Bernard Avle on the Citi Breakfast Show.
In the conversation, the iconic musician explained that, the song ‘Oman bo adwo’ was composed at Apedwa when he and his band went to perform.
He also endorsed Amakye Dede and Oheneba Kissi as two musicians whose songs he really loved.
“I will pick someone like Oheneba Kissi: he was a great composer. Amakye Dede is also very good, none of his songs has been criticized. We have people who can still hold the banner for highlife music.”
The MOGO Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday [March 25, 2017] at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.
The event is sponsored by GCB Bank, Freight Consult and Nallem Consult.
