Any hopes of rapper Yaa Pono and Dancehalla act Shatta Wale recording a song together will forever remain a dream and never a reality says the former.
The ‘Gbee Naabu‘ act told DJ Black on Joy FM that he was incensed by Wale referring to him as a boy: “I recorded this song because, Shatta Wale did a live video calling me his boy and I’m never his boy and I can never be his boy but, I like his songs.”
He believes that the disagreement between artistes will have little or no effect on music fans.
“ There’s a lot of disrespect in the game that I don’t need to make it right. It’s not about dividing the fans, it’s about keeping them together so we all preach one thing to them and I am ready for any artiste who will come so we can preach the right thing to the right people,” said Pono.
“I need to make mine on my path with my people right and I believe when it sounds good in the ears of the other people, everybody is going to follow because respect is the first thing in this world. One thing about Ghana is that development affects music so we have to live according to the people we preach to.”
Rapper Yaa Pono is back with another diss song targeted at Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale. Titled ‘Gbee Naabu’ it sees Pono literally tear into Wale, reducing him to tatters.
The first one by the Tema-based artiste was ‘Noko’ where he boasts about how no one can attack or do anything to him.
The song is believed to be a response to Wale after the fall out arising from Pono’s inability to perform at a show in Cape Coast some two weeks ago.
Wale responded to the first song with the song ‘Say Fi’ where he questions the gender of the rapper and also use lots of unprintable words including suggesting he (Yaa Pono) was born as a result 0f rape.
According to him, he does not see himself joining forces with Shatta Wale to work on track after their beef that grabbed nationwide attention.
