It can be recalled that some artistes were tremendously chastised; for composing campaign songs for presidential aspirants of different political parties, prior to the just concluded elections. Not just criticisms; it has been revealed that some artistes received threats from people who were furious about the some of the composed campaign songs.
Gospel musician Diana Asamoah, who happens to be one of those, has revealed she was almost pressured into leaving Ghana, as a result of attacks from people unhappy about her song for Akufo Addo. The songstress made this known at the NPP’s thanksgiving service held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 18, 2016.

Speaking at the service, Diana Asamoah reveals she was threatened by some individuals who were not happy about the song release for Akufo-Addo.
Diana Asamoah who is noted for composing worship songs, released a song for President-elect Nana Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), during the pre election period. It was stated in her song, that the NPP flagbearer was the one appointed by God to lead Ghana for the next four years.
The song however, was not pleasing to some, as she began receiving threats from people. The singer said she was questioned on why she composed a song for someone who is not destined to be President.
They called me and questioned me on why I composed a song for someone who was not created to be President, but I stood my grounds and today I thank the Lord that he has made his prophecy come to pass, she said.
According to her, individuals she failed to name, demanded to know from her why she did songs for the NPP and at a point threatened to chase her out of the country.
At the thanksgiving service, Diana Asamoah also thanked God for finally granting victory to the President-elect, in spite of the massive challenges faced by him.
