Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi-Bonte II has denied ever being dragged to court by the Police for forceful entry into a land belonging to one Nii Adjabeng Ankrah Family.
He has described as “untrue and incriminating” the story which was carried by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and later published by Ghanaweb.com and some media outlets suggesting he (Gbese Mantse) and two others were dragged to an Accra Circuit Court for taking over a land belonging to the Nii Adjabeng Ankrah Family.
Refuting the reports, Nii Ayi-Bonte II in a statement made available to Ghanaweb.com said the story was fabricated by the said family to demean his hard earned reputation.
“…wish to refute this allegation that, it is not true, baseless and a false story which was concocted by a certain individual within Nii Adjabeng Ankrah Family who wanted to bring my name into disrepute and cause disaffection among my people and the General Public,” the statement read.
The Gbese Mantse reiterated that all lands within the various quarters of the Ga State belong to the Ga Mantsemei or Chiefs and so unless there is a violent acquisition of any land belonging to a family, there is no police interventions.
“Even if, a family or any person is claiming a portion of Land, they know exactly the processes to route their grievances or complaints through for redress,” he said.
The “Allodial owner of the Gbese stool and lands”, has, therefore, cautioned the media and the general public to distant themselves from such misleading allegation.
“The general public and the media are therefore being called upon to reject and ignore this malicious and incriminating information which tend to blemish my sound and positive proven track – record which I have nurtured and gained for so many years,” he cautioned.

RE: GHANA POLICE DRAGS GBESE MANTSE TO COURT
My attention has been drawn to a publication which appeared on the Ghana website which indicated that: “Ghana Police Drags Gbese Mantse to Court” and wish to refute this allegation that, it is not true, baseless and a false story which was concocted by a certain individual within Nii Adjabeng Ankrah Family who wanted to bring my name into disrepute and cause disaffection among my people and the General Public.
The alleged story stated further that the Ghana Police Service has hauled me and two others to an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday 9th February, 2017 for alleged forcefully entering into Nii Adjabeng Ankrah Family Land at the Industrial Area.
This information has come as a surprise to me (Nii Ayi – Bonte II, Gbese Mantse) because such allegation has not been brought to my notice at all.
Secondly, I am a gazetted Chief and the allodial owner of the Gbese Stool Lands which include North Industrial Area, Kwame Nkramah Circle (also known as Faa No Faa) and Avenor, and that my stool name is Nii Ayi – Bonte II but not Nii Ayi Bonte III as was captured on the Ghana Website and the Ghana News Agency (GNA)
Thirdly, the Ghana Police Service or the Greater Accra Police Command has never invited me (Nii Ayi – Bonte II) for even questioning or carrying out any investigation or providing even a caution statement in any circumstances whatsoever.
Fourthly, no Court of competent jurisdiction has served me with any writ of summons to appear before it or face any pending case.
Even if, a family or any person is claiming a portion of Land, they know exactly the processes to route their grievances or complaints through for redress.
However, if violence or force is applied, that is where the Police intervenes to bring peace and for normalcy to prevail.
Finally, I wish to reiterate and state without any ambiguity that the Ga Mantsemei or Chiefs are the custodians of all Lands within the various quarters of the Ga State.
The general public and the media are therefore being called upon to reject and ignore this malicious and incriminating information which tend to blemish my sound and positive proven track – record which I have nurtured and gained for so many years.
