The flag bearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr Edward Mahama, has said he failed to record a single vote as presidential candidate at the polling station where his pastor voted and suspects his pastor’s vote may have been added to the spoilt ballots.
He said he was sure that a significant number of the spoilt ballots in the just-ended elections were votes for him.
“On my part, where my pastor voted, I got zero in this election. I’m sure those so-called spoilt ballots, a lot of them will have my votes there,” he said.
In addition, he believed election irregularities and other factors were reasons why he recorded less than 1 per cent of votes in the December 7 elections.
He indicated that the initial rejection of his forms and disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC) affected his campaign.
“It took six weeks from my campaign and made it impossible for me to raise money,” he told Joy FM in an interview on Monday, December 12.
