Outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev Prof Emmanuel Martey has replied critics who are daring him to mention those who supposedly tried to bribe him with GH?100,000 dollars to get him to shut up on criticizing national issues.
According to him, he does not have time to discuss personalities but rather the issues which is crippling the socio-economic conditions in the country.
“I don’t discuss personalities; I discuss issues of corruption, bribery, malfeasances, reckless dissipation of public funds and incompetence” he stated.
Prof Martey’s comments is in response to a challenge thrown to him by Members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to mention the names of the bribe givers if he wants to be taken serious.
They believe since he has been very critical of the Mahama-led government, those who allegedly came to bribe might be in government.
But the Presby Moderator in response said he won’t be coerced to name the personalities who wanted to gag him from commenting on national issues.
