Former Ghana Coach Avram Grant has revealed that he did more for the senior National team, Black Stars, than he has ever done for any team.
In an exclusive interview with ace sports Journalist, Gary Al-Smith, Avram Grant indicated that he has contributed in terms of identifying new players for the National team.
Avram Grant also disclosed that contrary to widely held claim that he spent a lot of his time outside the country, he spent some time at all centres that the local leagues were played and also monitored all levels of the national team.
“I did my best. I was in all the places in Ghana, i saw all the teams including the national teams, each one of them, i didn’t miss even one”
“I did more than extra mile for Ghana much more than i did for any club, i was every where that i can to help Ghana football. National team is not easy. You need experienced players”
Avram Grant also expressed his views on why Ghana always chokes at the semifinals, gave specific reasons for dropping Waris, Dwamena before AFCON 2017 and mentioned about 10 players he has ‘discovered’ for Ghana.
He also refuted allegations that Ghana’s football governing body, GFA, had any influence in his teams.
Avram Grant was appointed Coach of the Black Stars in November 2014 but parted ways with the GFA in February on mutual agreement after a ‘poor showing’ at the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
