George Boateng, the man who was disqualified from contesting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential primary has said that he is more than qualified to be the Vice-President of the country.
George Boateng has accepted an offer to be the running mate of Lawrence Jamial Kutin who is seeking to contest the 2016 general elections as an independent presidential candidate.
The 41-year-old electrician who hails from the Volta Region recently picked forms to contest in the 2016 election.
And George Boateng who was disqualified by the NDC from contesting President Mahama at the NDC primary said he is fit to be a Vice President of the country.
“As a Vice President, I will be the head of the Economic Management Team and I am prepared to implement policies that would help eradicate poverty…I am ready to be the Vice President…,” he said on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Monday.
George Boateng claims Kutin chose him as his vice upon scrutinizing and accepting that he has good policies that can transform the country.
“The guy chose me because he believes in the policies I put forth while seeking to contest as NDC Presidential candidate…he is also very knowledgeable and once he has that capacity, I will help him ascend the presidency…,” he said.
Despite accepting to be the Vice Presidential candidate of Kutin, George Boateng claims he is yet to meet the man who offered him the position of a running mate.
He is also yet to resign from the NDC, where he was once a youth organiser.
