Grief-stricken journalists in the Ashanti region and staff of Kumasi-based Kessben Fm and Television (TV) are yet to come terms with the sudden demise of their colleague Confidence Eric Kwadwo Baah of Kessben.
The award winning journalist and co-host of ‘Breaking News’ died on Sunday morning at Effiduasi Government Hospital in the Ashanti region after a short illness.
There have been varying accounts as to how Confidence actually died especially when he was reported to have hosted a programme the previous day.
According to his aunt, he came to visit her at Afigyase where he comes from but asked her to prepare ampesi for him and after eating went to the Afigyase township.
He returned later in the night after giving her aunt a malt drink which she asked him to buy for her when returning from town.
She revealed that she woke him up later in the night to switch off the fan at the hall since he was sleeping in the bedroom which he did.
The said aunt reportedly went to his room at dawn to inform him she was going for morning devotion when she realized he was lying in bed face down motionless.
After several failed attempts to wake him up, she raised an alarm and was assisted by neighbours to rush him to Effiduasi Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at the emergency unit.
