An Inusah Musah goal in the 71st minute became the winner as Hearts of Oak beat city rivals Great Olympics 2-1 in Week 6 of the Ghana Premier League.
The match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday was expected to rekindle the rivalry between the two sides with Olympics needing a win more direly than the Phobians.
Olympics are yet to win after returning to the League.
But it was the Phobians who drew first blood in the 24th minute through Paul Acquah’s header.
Man of the Match Benjamin Arthur equalized with six minutes to end the first half.
But Frank Nuttal’s boys ensured that they claimed all the points after Musah took advantage of a goalmouth melee to hit the back of the net.
In other matches played, Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw by debutants Bolgatanga All Stars.
Champions Wa All Stars went to Tarkwa to pick the three points off Medeama SC after a 1-0 win.
Former champions Ashanti Gold SC were beaten 4-2 at home by Bechem United while WAFA beat Tema Youth 2-1.
Liberty Professionals came from a goal down to beat Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 while Elmina Sharks lifted high the flag of the Central Region with a 2-1 win over former champions Berekum Chelsea.
