Gregory Afoko, the man standing trial for the alleged murder of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adams Mahama, has been declared fit to return to the dock after falling sick.
In October last year, the 52-year-old Afoko suffered a swollen hand, a condition which prompted the judge to adjourn the case to enable him seek medical attention.
Accra News’ Ama Brako Ampofo, who was in court on Tuesday 7 March, reported that the trial judge, Justice L. L. Mensah, indicated that he had received the medical report on the accused from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital declaring him fit.
“Gregory was in court and I can also report, at least from what I saw, that he is fit,” the reporter said.
She further reported that the judge, after meeting counsel for the accused and state fixed March 23, 2017 for hearing to resume.
