Members of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) will embark on a demonstration in Accra on Wednesday, September 28, a press release has announced.
The demonstration is to protest delay in bursaries and thesis grants.
The street protest follows a recent backtracking regarding a planned picketing at the Flagstaff House last week.
“The main reason behind the call off was to engage government further as moves were made by same but unfortunately as at now we have not been able to get government to give us assurances on the release of our bursaries and thesis grant,” the release explained.
It further explained that meetings with the Ministry of Education and the Scholarship Secretariat have proven futile.
Wednesday’s demonstration will see the post-graduate students wear black and red attires.
They will converge at Obra Spot and march through some of Accra’s principal streets to Hearts of Oak’s park.
A petition will be sent to the Ministry of Finance and the president.
