It’s all change at the top of the Ghana Premier League after match day 10 across seven league centers. West Africa Football Academy are the new league leaders after they chalked a 3-0 win over AshagtiGold in Sogakope to continue their fantastic run of form.
Obeng Apem, Daniel Lomotey and Gideon Waja scored the goals to take WAFA two points clear of Aduana Stars who have a game in hand.
Aduana themselves needed a late Bright Adjei equalizer away at Liberty Professionals to earn a point and hold onto second place after captain Samuel Sarfo had given Liberty the lead.
Asante Kotoko are without a win in three games and down to 3rd, three points behind WAFA after their latest reverse at Medeama.
The Porcupine Warriors were pegged back in the last 15th minutes after taking a 32nd minute lead through Ahmed Adams, but Paul Aidoo scored twice for Medeama from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile in Accra, Hearts of Oak’s topsy-turvy season continued after they survived a late scare to beat Bechem United 4-2. The Accra club was buoyed by goals from Thomas Abbey, Richard Akrofi, Abdul Fatawu Mohammed and Cosmos Dauda in a game that should have hampered Hearts chances of climbing up the table. The Phobians are now up to fifth on the standings with 15 points from 10 games.
