The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has reassured the chiefs and people of the area that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s major priority is to deliver all its campaign promises.
This, according to the former District Chief Executive for Nanumba North could only be achieved in an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence.
The Regional Minister was interacting with religious leaders as part of his familiarization tour of the region.
He visited the Tamale central Mosque, the Ambariya Mosque, Masjidul Bayan and Ahamdiyya Muslim Mission Mosque.
He also met the Spiritual leader of the Ghanaian Shia Muslim community who doubles as the Tamale Zongo chief, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalhu and leadership of the Christian Council.
He said the voluntary service component of the national service scheme which engaged the services of Arabic teachers will be reinvigorated.
Salifu Saeed admonished the Clergy to continue to serve as a source of inspiration to the younger generation.
“As stakeholders of the land do everything possible to ensure that there is peace, security and development in Tamale and the entire Northern Region. We will continue to come to you for your prayer and guidance to deliver our promises.”
“We want to ensure that there is peace and security to serve as a pull factor that will pull investors to bring their monies and invest in the region to boost the productive labour force of our region,” he stressed.
He promised to have mutual engagements with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to assuage the plight of the suffering masses.
“I will partner with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to turn the area into one of the best in Ghana.”
Hundreds of NPP members, sympathizers and some residents of Tamale on Thursday ushered the regional Minister into Tamale Township.
