Delegations of the Mozambican government and the main opposition party Renamo submitted their positions on the mediators’ proposal related to the package of principles on the decentralization process, the Mozambican News Agency said Monday.
The information was released in Maputo by the coordinator of the mediators, Mario Raffaelli, approximately three weeks after the interruption of the negotiations.
Regarding the positions of the two delegations, Raffaelli said more details would be presented during a joint meeting between the mediators and the two delegations.
The Mozambican government and Renamo are discussing at this stage issues related to decentralization of the state apparatus, demilitarization of Renamo’s armed people and their social reintegration.
The political dialogue aims to prepare the meeting between the Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi and the Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama, for effective peace in the country. Enditem
