A founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is proposing the skeptics questioning the viability of the polices proposed by the Akufo-Addo led government ask for forgiveness from God.
Mr. George Ayisi Boateng maintained that, no God-fearing person will kick against such policies like free Senior High School (SHS) policy, one district one dam if they have the country at heart.
His comment comes after the Minority in Parliament asked President Akufo-Addo to spell out the sources of funding for the free senior high school (SHS) policy after he [Nana] announced that the free SHS programme will begin in September 2017.
President Akufo-Addo said students entering SHS in the 2017/2018 academic year would not be required to pay anything.
But Deputy Minority leader, James Avedzi Klutsey said the clarification by the President on the source of funding would put to rest the contradictions regarding the sources of funding for government’s flagship programme.
On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday Mr. Ayisi Boateng expressed shock at the conduct of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“These people should pray for forgiveness; how can you oppose such a policy just to score cheap political points” he bemoaned.
The NPP guru indicated that if government is able to implement even one of the plethora of promises, the increasing unemployment situation in the county will be solved.
He said the NDC risked losing the good will of Ghanaians and relevance in Ghana’s body politic if they continue the needless criticisms.
Mr. Ayisi Boateng is confident with God on the side of the Akufo-Addo led administration, they would accelerate Ghana development in a year.
