Reigning queen of Ghana’s Most Beautiful season 10, Yaba, as part of her social responsibility has presented a cheque for GHC4, 500 to 10 girls to aid them further their education.
The 10 ladies, who were all selected from the western region where Yaba hails from, benefited from a scholarship awarded by her foundation, the Ekpoliaku Foundation to study a 1 year programme at Abbi Creation University College which is located at Nungua in Accra.
The beauty queen who is a final year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology said she believes women have an important role to play in society, identifying education as key in discharging their role in future.
“I stand for women empowerment and these ladies are the future of Ghana, so I believe we must all come together to support them.
“My goal is to help and support my sisters further their education and I believe they will surely give back to society with the wealth of knowledge they acquire.”
Yaba beat competition from four others – Northern’s Hiba, Eastern’s Akos, Greater Accra’s Naa and Ashanti’s Badu – at the finals to emerge winner of the crown for keeps.
She was presented with a four-wheel Suzuki Vitara, GH¢10,000, a holiday trip to South Africa and souvenirs from sponsors for one year.
