The Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has warned that a second term for President John Mahama will further cripple the already tumbling Ghanaian economy.
Speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday, the business mogul tore into shreds the achievements of Mahama stating that the hardships in the country are simply beyond “President Mahama the Communicator.”
He said in the life of every developed nation, the right talent is matched to the right position and that he is that right talent to fix the dipping economic fortunes of the nation.
Urging Ghanaians to dump the National Democratic Congress (NPP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the PPP, the Chairman of Groupe Nduom said that the handling of the economy which had compelled Ghana to seek the International Monetary Fund (IMF’s) bailout was an indication of “enough is enough.”
The government last year called on the IMF for support, with the latter approving a US$981 million Extended Credit Facility (ECF) to help boost growth, creates jobs and stabilize the economy.
This, according to Dr. Nduom, means that Ghana’s financial indicators are down with lingering massive unemployment and the President cannot be given a second term to do “…the same thing; more deaths, more ‘Dumsor’, more monococal meningitis [and] more cholera.”
Continuing his dig on the President, he said “ he doesn’t have footing” to make the state work.
Born on February 15, 1953 at Elmina in the Central region of Ghana, Dr. Nduom was a former cabinet minister in the erstwhile NPP government and also one time presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP).
