There is division in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the candidature of former president John Dramani Mahama as the country goes to the polls in 2020.
Some members of the NDC have been reported to be mounting pressure on the former president, who lost to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 2016 elections to contest again in 2020.
These endorsements from some of the members and executives of the party have created tension in the party.
According to those who are against the former president’s comeback in 2020, he was unable to take control over affairs of the party which caused them the 2016 election.
But those in support of the former president said he is the best bid for the 2020 elections and without him the party would have no message for the electorates.
However, in an interview with some eligible voters on some streets of Accra to find out if former President John Mahama should contest on the ticket of the NDC in the 2020 elections, majority of the interviewees believe his chance of becoming a president again is slim.
According to them, unless the Akufo-Addo government fails, Mahama stands no chance in winning the 2020 election.
Here are some of the views expressed on Mahama’s possible 2020 comeback
