Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exclusive Events, Organisers of Miss Ghana, Inna Mariam Patty, has debunked rumours circulating that Ghana will host Miss World event this year.
Speaking on Accra-based Okay FM, she said she was stunned with the news making rounds that Ghana will host Miss World.
Although she said they have plans to host Miss World in future “it is exactly not this year.”
She said since Ghana’s Jubilee was being celebrated in a grand style the same way “we also want to celebrate our Ghanaian women in a grand style for this year’s Miss Ghana.”
Government of Ghana has announced a partnership with Exclusive Events Ghana to organise the 2017 edition of Miss Ghana pageant dubbed: “Miss Ghana @60.”
The essence of the pageant, Inna Mariam Patty explained, moulds Ghanaian women from all walks of life and enables them to freely express their values, concerns and also help find solutions to issues affecting their communities.”
She expressed her appreciation to the government and the president for the support.
“We are more grateful to them because we appreciate the diverse, huge and present responsibility of their office.
“We cannot thank them enough because they have prioritised our belief in empowering the younger and next generation despite the time constraints, inadequate resources and economic restraints.”
This year’s Miss Ghana is slated for August 2017.
