The Ghana Poetry Festival is here again! This time, it promises a series of exciting literary & entertaining events over a span of three days, thus; from the 10th – 12th November, 2016. The festival, during its first and second editions, has helped to nurture young poets into successes, brought together poets from all regions of Ghana and its suburbs unto one stage and celebrated deserving Ghanaian poets.
The 3rd Edition of the Festival organized, as usual, by Values for Life and supported this year by the W. E.B. The Role of Stakeholders”, there will be a seminar, performances, master classes, roundtable discussions and video screening among several others. Ghana Poetry Festival will also serve as an avenue to promote African culture and arts, through its series of roundtable discussions and workshops.
The Special Guest of Honour for the festival still remains Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie – Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts – as patron and the Guest Speaker is Nana Baffuor Gyan-Apenteng (President, Ghana Association of Writers& Chairman of National Media Commission.

This year’s festival presents a special session where poetically versatile poets will have the opportunity to perform poems in their native and learned tongues while a slots will be allocated for Inter-schools’ poetry competition, Open Mic sessions, exhibitions and paintings, and enactment of poems—Journey to Ourselves (a fusion of poetry, music, dance and drama conceptualized and directed by Oswald Okaitei).
The climax of the festival will be the “All Stars and Legends Night” which will feature all poetic legends and societal icons as Paul Adom Otchere, Ama K. Abrebrese, Abeiku Santana, Abdul Moomen, Prince Joe Lartey jr, among others in poetry performances.
The amazing part of it all is that the festival is free and open to anybody at all. At last, all roads lead to University of Ghana on 10th November for the Opening and then to the W. E.B.
