Counsel for Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), Thaddeus Sory, welcomed on Monday the Supreme Court’s ruling ordering it to give all disqualified presidential aspirants a hearing.
The court, in its ruling on Monday ordered the EC to extend the nomination to November 8.
Monday’s ruling by the Supreme Court will bring to a close the controversy surrounding the disqualification of presidential aspirants in the forthcoming December 7 elections.
The court’s decision automatically affects all the 13 disqualified aspirants.
The EC is expected to declare the names of nominated candidates by the close of working day on Wednesday. Enditem
