The flagbearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr Kwasi Addai, popularly known as Odike is urging Ghanaians to reject the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 polls.
According to him, Ghana does not need a globetrotter with cap in hand “begging for alms like President Mahama” who has failed to develop the rich resources in the country.
“Even in the midst of plenty, we are still hungry because of leadership paralysis. Let’s vote John Mahama out,” he stated on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.
The businessman presidential aspirant said his presidency would be private sector-led, with the government empowering the private sector to create an enabling environment for it to operate freely and without any hindrance.
He said it was time Ghana added value to its raw materials rather than exporting them and later importing finished products at a high cost.
Odike, who deals in shoes and clothing, said Ghanaian shoemakers are among the best in the world and could easily match the Italians, Polish and Germans at the international level.
That, he said, would be a thing of the past during his administration and was hopeful that Ghanaians would give him the power to put into practice all his “good plans.”
Odike, who is also promising one farm, one dam said he would improve irrigation to ensure food security in the country.
The businessman said he would promote an all-inclusive government should he win the elections since “one political party cannot develop Ghana”.
