At its Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 14, Caf sanctioned the schedule for the qualifiers. They are expected to begin on February 26, 2018.
“In accordance with the international harmonized calendar for women’s competitions, the final tournament will take place from 17 November to 1 December 2018,” a release announcing the decisions of the meeting said.
A recommendation was also made at the meeting chaired by Caf’s President Issa Hayatou to open nominations for host of the 2022 edition.
The meeting also reviewed preparations ahead of the 2018 African Championship of Nations (CHAN) to be hosted in Kenya.
The inspection team led by Caf’s Vice President Suketu Patel said “significant progress” has been made and there is a strong commitment on the part of government “to make it a success”.
Zambia was also highly commended for the recently held U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which they won.
