George Quaye has been relieved of his position as the Spokesperson for the Ghana Music Awards.
The announcement was made by CharterHouse, organizers of the awards scheme during a press conference held on Friday afternoon.
He however remains the Public Relations person for the company and a part of the VGMA board. Nii Ayitey Hammond and Mark Okraku Mantey are the new spokespersons for the music awards scheme.
Quaye has been embroiled in controversy over his comments recently.
“No disrespect to gospel artistes but the biggest bribe that I’ve been offered in the history of the scheme (VGMA) comes from the gospel artistes.” said Quaye during a chat on THE PUNDITS on GhOneTV.
He later apologized and withdrew the statement. CharterHouse also disassociated itself from the bribery comments by Quaye.
Kwame Farkye is also no longer on the VGMA board. He has been replaced with Ruddy Kwakye.
