Speaking to voters at a rally in Bawjiase in the Central Region this week, George Andah dares Hannah Tetteh to appear with her husband during campaigns the way he [George] does all the time with his wife.
He said that hecame with his wife and children, and that his wife is always by his side each time he campaigned in the area, whereas Hannah had never brought her husband.
I came here with my wife and children. Please tell Hannah to also come and show us her husband. When I come, I bring my wife. Go and tell Hannah that when she is coming, she should bring her husband. Tell Hannah to show her husband to you, he stressed.
He then called on his wife, Asantewaa to mount the podium for introduction amid cheers and applauds from party supporters.
George Andah subsequently urged the people to vote against Hannah Tetteh in the coming elections. According to him, the Foreign Affairs Minister has achieved nothing for the constituency although she has served two terms as MP and minister of state.
Video of the taunting challenge has gone viral on social media. In the video, Mr. Andah is seen telling the crowd to ask Madam Hanna Tetteh to show them her husband. Many has condemned Mr Andah’s action, describing it as an insult. A good section of social media users have also wondered what marital relationship has got to do with politics.
