Four people have died In Jerusalem after a suspected terrorist rammed a lorry into a group of soldiers, Israeli police say.
Medics said three women and one man were killed and 15 people were injured.
“It is a terrorist attack, a ramming attack,” a police spokeswoman said on Israel radio.
A bus driver who witnessed the incident told the station that the driver ploughed into the group before reversing over victims.
Police said the attacker was shot by soldiers from the group but it was not immediately clear if the suspect was dead.
Images shared on social media showed a lorry with bullet holes riddled across the windscreen.
Israeli radio and TV reports said the attacker was a Palestinian.
The attack took place on a popular promenade overlooking the walled Old City of Jerusalem.
Thirty-five Israelis been killed in a wave of knife, gun and car-ramming attacks by Palestinians or Israeli Arabs since October 2015.
More than 200 Palestinians – mostly attackers, Israel says – have also been killed in that period.
Israel says Palestinian incitement has fuelled the attacks. The Palestinian leadership has blamed frustration rooted in decades of Israeli occupation.
