A four-day old baby girl has reportedly gone missing from the maternity ward of the Bimbilla Government Hospital in the Northern Region.
According to the mother of the baby, Tinam Bechebilambi, one of the nurses on duty came for the baby to pierce her ears after which she returned her.
The mother realised that her baby was missing when she woke up at about 1am Friday dawn to breastfeed her, Accra-based Citi FM reported.
The security officer on duty is said to have been patrolling different wards at the time the incident occurred.
He’s therefore unable to give details of the incident.
Meanwhile, the nurses on duty together with the security officer have been picked up by the Bimbilla Police to assist with investigations.
