James Kwabena Bomfeh a.k.a Kabila, the former youth leader of the Conventions People’s Party (CPP) has called on parliament to address the conduct of the New Patriotic member of parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.
Mr Bomfeh opines that the statements of the Assin Central MP on the recent activities of the NPP-affiliated Delta Force vigilante group, goes against the appropriate conduct for legislator .
In an interview with Class FM, Mr Bomfeh said urged the House to address the issue of Kennedy Agyapong’s behavior as a parliamentarian. “Parliament is a house that is in charge of its own rules and based on the petition that I have brought before them, the Speaker will consider it and look at the most appropriate platform to listen into this matter.
If it has to be a committee or it’s a standing committee or an ad hoc committee to be set up, the most important thing is that I feel his conduct constitutes an affront to the image and dignity of the house and it is important that the house undertake an exercise to purge itself of the danger that the comments and conduct of this honourable member seek to drag the house into,” he said.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong after the recent actions of the Delta Force group, had stated that he would no longer back the vigilante group.
Meanwhile, the case involving 8 Delta Force members who stormed a Kumasi Circuit court to free 13 of their colleagues on trial for violence, has been sent to the Attorney General’s office for advice.
The presiding judge on the case, Mrs Patricia Amponsah has since adjourned the case to May 17.
