Nsawam Residents in the Eastern region of Ghana, were thrown into a state of shock on Wednesday when news broke out that a footballer had shot his girlfriend to death.
Owusu Bempah, 24, who is currently in police custody assisting in investigations, was said to have shot Gladys Ampah, 15, in the neck at close range.

A foreign pistol and even life ammunitions were retrieved from the suspect by the police at the scene. The tragedy brought a large crowd to the scene to catch glimpse of the body.
Police personnel from the Nsawam District Command carried the body away to the Nsawam Government for autopsy.
A source told The Ghanaian Times that the police had information that someone had been murdered and they proceeded to the scene. According to the source, the suspect relocated from Dansoman in Accra to Ankwah Dobro, accompanied by Gladys.
The source said, according to the suspect, the deceased claimed the gun was a toy one, but in the cause of showing her that it was a real gun in his possession, it triggered off and hit her neck, resulting in her death.
According to the source, the gun shot attracted residence, who assisted to convey the body to the Hospital.
