FIFA President Gianni Infantino is scheduled to pay a one-day working visit to Ghana on Monday, February 27.
His visit said to further strengthen ties between FIFA and Ghana will see the Swiss-cum-Italian meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
The former UEFA General Secretary is expected to visit the headquarters of the nation’s football governing body.
There, he will meet the Ghana Football Association’s staff and officials including its President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
“This is an important milestone for football in Ghana with President Infantino coming to the country to share ideas of his vision for the game,” Mr Nyantakyi told the official portal of the Association.
“President Infantino’s visit is unique because it gives our key stakeholders the chance to exchange ideas with a sitting FIFA President to help shape the future of the game.
“We are delighted to host the FIFA President in Ghana and we are confident the visit will further accelerate the development of the game in the country.”
Infantino’s trump card to winning the FIFA presidency exactly a year ago was the expansion of the world cup to 48 teams, a proposal approved recently by FIFA.
He will hold a closed-door meeting with the Executive Committee of the GFA after which he will meet the press.
