Thirty-five (35) fetish priests in the country are set to embark on a two week peace campaign at Asonomaso Nkwanta in the Ashanti region to ease the tense political atmosphere.
One of the priests, Nana Okomfour Yaw who spoke to Adom News said, though there is some level of tension in the country, it should not call for a disagreement or fights between supporters of various political parties.
He said their aim is to bring togetherness amongst supporters of various political parties.
“The tension is likely but not so deep to call for a fight or disagreement. Let us respect one another and we shall all live to preserve our motherland Ghana for the next generations to come.
“If you have substance enough to shout an accusation against parties, don’t proceed but rather pray to your God to rescind your mindset so we all enjoy the peaceful atmosphere calmly.”
He asked Ghanaians not to be frightened but rather rally their support in the form of prayers and vote peacefully in December.
“We want each and everyone to go to the polling station and vote peacefully. We as spiritual leaders have also planned to call on the gods and the ancestors to spiritually support the country as we go to the polls in order to enable violence free election” he stressed.
Nana Okomfour Yaw assured Ghanaians that the gathering of over 35 fetish priests at Asonomaso Nkwanta will relieve the nation of any calamity.
He admonished other religious groups to desist from doom prophecies since they were rathewr stoking tensions.
