It’s Jordan Ayew’s turn to taste Swansea city, as the skipper has signed a new deal with the Wales club. The Black Stars striker signed a three-and-a half year deal for English Premier League side Swansea City on Tuesday evening. Jordan joins Swansea on an exchange deal which will see the club’s left back, Neil Taylor join Aston Villa. Swansea will pay an undisclosed fee as part of the transfer.

However, Jordan will not be available for Swansea, being on duty at the African Cup of Nations tournament. Now in the semifinals, Ghana’s Black Stars will face Cameroon in the semi-finals on Thursday, while the final takes place on Sunday. Jordan aims to make the most of his opportunity back in the Premier League following his move from Aston Villa.
Jordan Ayew hopes to become the second member of his family to be a success at Swansea City. It can be recalled that in June 2015, Jordan’s elder brother Andre signed for Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille. Dede Ayew left Swansea in August 2016 to join West Ham on a £20.5m deal.
While at Aston Villa, Jordan got 10 goals – including one against his new club – in 58 games. He scored his first goal for the club on 24 October 2015, against Swansea City, in the 62nd minute. Aston Villa were relegated at the end of the 2015–16 season, winning only 17 points, but Ayew did end the season as their top scorer albeit with just 7 goals.
Jordan Ayew alongside his brother, wowed Ghanaians and brought a sense of relief among citizens, having taken Ghana’s Black Stars to the AFCON semifinals. The Ayew brothers also earned significant titles for themselves as Ghana reached AFCON semifinals on January 29. Jordan Ayew was adjudged Man of the Match at Black Stars’ 2-1 win over the Leopards.
