Failed National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, Benedicta Oyo Qwartey has been accused of seizing the community key borehole in the Vagara Wangara electoral area.
According to the assemblyman for the electoral area, Johnson Agbanu, the borehole was drilled by the parliamentary candidate and so since she failed in her bid to become MP in the December polls, she decided to seize the key to prevent residents from utilising the borehole.
He said on Monday, 13th of February 2017, Benedicta Oyo Qwartey sent three men to guard the borehole and not allow residents to use it.
The situation, Mr Agbanu noted has affected residents in the community because the borehole has been locked for the past weeks.

But the parliamentary candidate in a quick rebuttal said the contractor for the borehole has not completed work and that reports that she has seized the borehole are baseless.
“I have not finished the borehole. There are small things to be done and so I only asked the contractor to take over since he is still on it. I have not issued any seizure of the borehole.
“I assure the public that if it is handed over to me, I will leave it to the community if they can handle the borehole well” she stated.
