The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has granted bail to Ibrahim Mahama, brother of ex-president John Mahama Myjoyonline.com has learnt.
He was picked up earlier today and interrogated over transactions he is said to have engaged in prior to the 2016 elections.
Details of the transactions for which he was picked are sketchy but reports suggest he had issued dud cheques to the Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the Tema Port to clear some heavy duty equipment he had imported.
Myjoyonline.com cannot immediately confirm that but sources close to EOCO said he has been granted bail to report at a later date.
