Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region has called on the leadership of the country to emulate the selflessness of the founder fathers in serving mother Ghana.
He added that putting Ghana first on the agenda of politicians was critical to ensuring development and the growth of all segments of the society.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V was interacting with Minister for Transport, Mr. Kweku Ofori Asiamah, at his palace in Essikado in the Western Region.
The minister’s visit to the region was to help him become acquainted with some departments and directorates under his ministry.
The paramount chief said Ghana needed lots of industries to project its growth and that could only be achieved by leaders who abhorred wrongdoings, personal aggrandisement and corruption.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V added that any changes the current government wants to make must be well-thought through to ensure that it yields the ultimate benefit for the country.
The paramount chief who described the minister for transport as a younger brother advised him to give off his best in serving his motherland.
“I will only come to the ministry when you are not doing what is expected of you, you won’t see me there when all is well,” he said.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V also tasked him to work on completing the railway project to ease transportation problems as well as promote economic activities.
Mr. Ofori Asiamah recounted the long-standing relationship between him and the paramount chief, which according to him, has been instrumental in his career progression.
“I cannot come to the region without coming to my elder brother to draw from his reservoir of knowledge, wisdom and intellect as I take up this mantle to serve my country,” the minister added.
