Political parties participating in this year’s elections will receive the final Voters Register and a list of all polling stations by the end of next week.
The Electoral Commission (EC) says though the polling stations’ list would be made available to the political parties by Friday, the Voters’ Register would be ready latest by next week due to some technical challenges as the EC prepares for the December polls.
The Register contains about 15,700,000 voters, including 29,000 newly registered voters who will be taken part in this year’s elections.
Chairperson of the Commission, Charlotte Osei revealed this when she met members of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs chaired by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu the second.
According to her, the polling stations list would also be made available on the EC’s website and would also be made available to security agencies to ensure transparency in the electoral process.
