The Electoral Commission has created what it calls a “Special Walk-in Service” for political parties and independent candidates contesting the December elections.
The Commission has dedicated two hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays where politicians can visit the EC’s offices to get their issues addressed.
“The Service which is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm would allow party representatives and independent candidates the opportunity to meet Members and key officers of the Commission (without prior appointment) to get their questions about the elections answered or concerns addressed.
“The Walk-In Service will take place at the same time simultaneously in all Regional and District Offices of the Commission across the country,” the Commission announced in a statement Wednesday.
“The Walk-in Service, the first of its kind, is in line with the Commission’s determination to increase its engagement with the key stakeholders of the electoral process. It will complement other initiatives being implemented by the Commission to increase access and transparency of the electoral process,” the statement signed by Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, Head of Communications at EC said.
It entreated the parties and independent candidates to make good use of this “unique opportunity”.
