Samuel Amoh Tobbin, Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies, has cautioned Ghanaians to disregard election prophecies by some so-called prophets ahead of the 2016 general elections .
Mr Tobbin, who is also the Presiding Elder of Dr Thomas Wyatt branch of the Church of Pentecost, said actions of these prophets on the upcoming general elections in December are not in line with scripture.
Mr. Samuel Tobin made the comments at ‘Atinka FM’s Prayerfest’ 2016, which was held on Saturday at the premises of the Accra Technical Training College (ATTC) to seek God’s intervention for peace to prevail before, during and after the 2016 general elections.
According to the renowned businessman, many have turned to prophecies, luring Christians into spiritual darkness.
He said Ghanaians should be wary of these fake prophets with their fake prophecies, demanding items on daily basis to solve spiritual matters. Elder Tobbin said such prophecies only trigger confusion and tension in the country.
“Be careful of fake prophets among you who claim they have vision about who will win the upcoming election ; they are only interested in causing chaos in the country. Ghanaians must therefore endeavor to ignore such prophets and their lies,” he said.
Elder Tobbin based his sermon on Jeremiah 29:8-9 of the Holy Book, which reads, “Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. 9 They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them”.
The programme , which was the first of its kind by Atinka FM, was heavily patronized by the station’s loyal listeners.
The Head of Religious Programmes at Atinka FM, Pastor Martin Sermodzie led intercessory prayers for the nation ahead of the December polls.
Atinka FM is a member of the Tobinco Group, which also includes, Atinka TV, Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi, Ahotor FM in Takoradi, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, Abii National, Priority Insurance, Dor’s Events, Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Top Blues.
