The flagbearer of the opposition party New Patriotic Party(NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo- Addo has accused President Mahama of bribing student nurses at the last minute in order to win votes .
Government on Thursday started paying trainee nurses some form of allowances with barely three weeks to the December 7 elections.
A statement from the Ministry of Health outlined that “the untaxed amount is One Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHC150.00) per student for three months, making a total amount of Four Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHC450.00) per student.”
However, addressing students of SDA College of Education in Koforidua as part of his five -day campaign tour in the Eastern Region, Nana Addo said, it is too late for president Mahama to bribe the student nurses.
According to him, if the students vote for the NPP come December 7th election, they will have a brighter future .
Nana Addo also mentioned that when the NPP is voted into power, they will restore allowances for trainee teachers and nurses.
He tasked the students not to allow themselves to be deceived by the NDC led by John Mahama because they will just come and make fake promises, pointing out that the NPP will implement good policies when voted into office .
